Our Origins
Cambridge & District Youth for Christ was founded in 2001 with the aim of “seeing young peoples lives changed by Jesus”. We’re an independent local charity, here to mobilise the local church into effective youth ministry.
Our Network
We’re one of over 70 chartered centres of British Youth for Christ, operating in towns and cities across the UK. Our head office (in Halesowen, West Midlands) provides support staff, national mission teams and more to help us in our work. Youth for Christ was launched in Britain in 1946 by the evangelist Billy Graham, whose original vision statement was: “Geared to the times, anchored to the Rock”. Whilst our style of ministry has changed, our cause remains the same: to present the timeless truth of Jesus to the emerging generation.
Our People
Churches: God’s Plan A is to reach the world through the local church, and there is no Plan B. That means we’re here to equip the local church to carry out its mission more effectively. Everything we do is with and for the local church, in order that it might bear much fruit in making disciples. See how…
Members: We have around 50 members who are part of local churches and support our aims and objectives. They meet each year to appoint the executive committee who govern the affairs of the charity and keep us focused on the mission. To find out more about serving in this way, contact mail@cambridgeyfc.uk.
Trustees: Our trustees are volunteers who take legal responsibility for our governance. They ensure that we manage the finance well, comply with all the legal obligations of being a charity and abide by our constitution. Our trustees bring a range of skills to the organisation in fundraising, church leadership, human resources, charity governance, management, graphic design and schools work.
The current trustees of Cambridge and District Youth for Christ are:

Our Faith
Our trustees, staff and volunteers support the Youth for Christ Statement of Faith as stated below.
We believe in:
- The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
- The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
- The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
- The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ – born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
- The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the Cross; dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
- The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; His ascension to the Father, and His reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the World.
- The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
- The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
- The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers – given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
- The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
