What is Fort Rocky?
Fort Rocky is the ultimate weekend away for those in school years 7-9. We have an action-packed programme full of fun, games, and opportunities to build relationships and create memories, all with a focus on sharing the good news of Jesus relevantly. It’s one of the highlights of the year so if you haven’t been before, make sure you book on!
Our heart is to support and equip the local church in youth ministry. We recognise that young people are already on a journey of faith with God and with their local youth workers. That’s why we prioritise those relationships. We do all the planning and running of the weekend to create space for existing relationships to grow, which is why we encourage people to come as a youth group with their leaders.
This year we are back at Eaton Vale. It’s a fabulous centre set in beautiful woodland with lots of open space and activities. Plus, it’s only 1 hour 25 minutes from central Cambridge.
What do we do at Fort Rocky?
The Fort Rocky programme has something for everyone. Each weekend looks a little different but there is always a range of sports, wide games, and workshops alongside time to hang out with old friends and make some new ones. Excellent food is always provided and we have four Roadshow sessions, where we pile in together for challenges, interviews, gunge, videos, creative prayer, and an opportunity to hear from amazing youth communicators. Alongside all of this we have access to some of Eaton Vale’s great activities including the cave bus, high ropes and obstacle course.
Who is Fort Rocky for?
Fort Rocky is for anyone in school years 7-9. It’s particularly aimed at those with little to no connection with church or who are exploring faith for themselves.
We strongly encourage people to come as a group with their youth workers. If you’re coming as a group we recommend bringing two leaders and at least one of each gender if you are bringing both boys and girls. If you are not connected to a local youth group, please contact Mark Watson on mwatson@cambridgeyfc.uk to see if we can connect with another group attending.

Feedback
‘. . . we really appreciated more time with our group so we could talk about following Jesus and what that means and think about the talks we heard. The talks were especially good this year. We enjoyed meeting up with other youth leaders, praying together & starting the day together. . .’ – Youth Worker
‘One of the mums contacted me to say that when her daughter came back from Fort Rocky, her character had changed massively and she became more open to teachings about Jesus when she had not really cared before.’ – Youth Worker
