Life To The Full
Our Vision
To offer to every young person in Cambridge & District a pathway to fullness of life in Jesus.
The Need
There are unprecedented levels of anxiety amongst young people. Teenagers are struggling to find hope, purpose and joy in an ever changing and unstable world. They have unlimited and instant access online to a range of global crises and to an unimaginable number of worldviews, expectations and pressures constantly fighting for their attention with little to no help in navigating this landscape.
The Opportunity
Statistics show that something is changing. A recent global study of 13-17 year olds described the rising generation as “optimistic, engaged… curious, authentic, inclusive and collaborative.”[1] And a report by the Bible Society states “where once we saw apathy or even hostility to Christianity and the Bible we see increased openness, again among the young.”[2]
Jesus said I have come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10).
Jesus said I have come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10). We believe this is God’s heart for every young person. That in Jesus every young person is offered life in all its fullness both now and for eternity. A life of spiritual, emotional and physical wholeness. Where in relationship with Jesus and as part of His church a sense of identity, belonging, purpose and hope can be found.
Our Response
To offer to every young person in Cambridge & District a pathway to fullness of life in Jesus.
We aim to do this by working in partnership with local churches to develop and deliver the wellbeing pathway in geographical areas, called Hubs.
The Wellbeing Pathway is a tool we have developed to imagine what it might look like to share the good news of Jesus with a generation of young people in word and deed. It provides a visualisation of what it might look like for a young person, through voluntary participation, to travel from having no knowledge of Jesus to becoming a mature disciple.
A Hub is a local partnership between Youth for Christ and one or more churches and Christian organisations working to develop the Wellbeing Pathway in a geographical area.
This is delivered through our two main projects:
Open House Wellbeing – creating safe spaces for young people which build healthy relationships, promote positive wellbeing and share the love of Jesus. Find out more about Open House Wellbeing here.
Catalyst – encouraging, supporting and training local churches to grow missional & disciple-making youth ministry. Find out more about Catalyst here.
Our Goal
We are aiming to develop 10 Hubs across the area in the next 10 years.
This leads us to the goal of seeing:
8,000 young people within reach of the pathway
500 young people known by name
100 young people exploring faith
50 young people growing as disciples
