Help us reach the Tipping Point

Did you know there are 20,000 young people in Cambridge and District? Local churches currently reach about 600. Would you like to see that number grow? So would we.

We have set ourselves the target of seeing 15% of young people passionately pursuing Jesus by the year 2025. We think that means at least 50 churches releasing 1000 leaders to influence 3000 young people as disciples of Christ. Find out more about Tipping Point …

We fully recognise that this is only possible through the abundant grace and power of God, and through the combined efforts of many people. If you want to be part of what God is doing, do consider how you can support youth ministry in your church. And why not tell us what you’re up to, or consider supporting our work through prayer, giving or volunteering?

Giving – Your generous support of our ministry will change the lives of local young people.

£10 a month will provide creative resources to a local church running an 11-14s outreach club.

£25 a month will support one youth leader with coaching in mission and discipleship.

£50 a month will give unchurched young people a chance to explore faith at Costa Coffee.

£100 a month will enable us to place a gap year worker in a local church more…

Why Now?
We’re growing. We’ve recently appointed new staff to equip local churches with specific outreach projects for young people. We’ve done this in faith, praying that God will supply all that we need to retain their services. Your support is helping us send workers out in to the ‘harvest field’, changing young lives for good!

LIFT – Raising up Young People in Prayer

Do you long to see Young People follow Jesus?

Do you believe that without God we are powerless to bring this about?

At Cambridge and District YFC, our vision is to see the Young People in Cambridge and District come to know Jesus and grow into mature disciples. But like you, we know this will not come about solely through our own plans, programmes and events, but only through the Grace and Power of God! So we are passionate about praying for the Young People of our city and we want to encourage you and help to further equip you and your local Church to do so too.

LIFT monthly mail

Lift Monthly Mail is a new email designed to provoke and inform prayer for young people. It focuses on a different aspect of life for young people each month, designed to encourage your church in its intercession for young people.

The email will include:

· 3 specific prayer points
· An intercessory prayer
· A creative prayer idea.

Our hope is that one of these will inspire and aid your church in praying for young people together.

If you would like to part of one of the Lift churches or just want to know a bit more get in touch. katie@cambridgeyfc.uk

We are excited to see what God will do as the Church in Cambridge grows in its prayer for young people, and we would love your church to partner with us.

Prayer Warriors

Do you have a heart for young people and a commitment to pray? We need you!

We have seen at first hand what happens in young lives when God’s people pray. We don’t want to do anything without prayer! We are currently looking for a small number of dedicated people who will make teenagers a significant focus of their prayer life. We’ll send you regular updates about our work, and special headlines when we have particular needs.

You might be asked to pray every day for a young person by name. We might tell you about financial needs, or when a key partner church or school are making an important decision. We will list our needs and desires ahead of an important residential weekend or mission event. And we believe you will be making a difference.
If you’re interested in becoming part of our new Prayer Warriors team please contact katie@cambridgeyfc.uk.

Recycle For Mission

We know that many people want to reach young people with the good news of Jesus and would be keen to support our work if possible. Well, we’ve developed a new fundraising scheme that costs you nothing, requires minimal effort, can involve one individual or your whole congregation/office and benefits the environment at the same time. Impossible? Read on to find out how!

Recycle4Charity is a company that aims to donate £100,000 a year to charities across the country through collecting used ink cartridges and mobile phone that would otherwise be thrown away. So far they have kept over 140,000kg from landfill sites – benefiting both charities and the environment.

What are we asking from you?

We are asking people to simply place a collecting box in a prominent place in your church or place of work. People bring in their mobile phones and printer cartridges as they wish, and from time to time, we’ll come along and empty the box for you. All you need to do it put the box somewhere obvious and tell people about it regularly.

All mobile phones are accepted however only Hewlett Packard, Canon, Lexmark, Dell and Xerox inkjets can be recycled. For more information on what can be recycled through this scheme, visit www.recycle4charity.co.uk

If you’re interested in collecting on our behalf, email mail@cambridgeyfc.uk with Recycle for Mission in the subject line and we’ll be in touch!
